OVS HD Nomadic | 3-Person Soft Shell Tent

I met Ash at the Overland Expo, and she gave me a really good deal on the demo Nomadic 3. After using it for the first time on a 9-day camping trip, I can honestly say the tent performed great. Over the trip, we experienced just about everything—hot temperatures for the first couple of days, followed by hard rain, strong winds, and much colder temperatures. The tent handled it all really well. We had no leaks during the rain, and even with the strong winds, there was no annoying flapping or excessive noise. On the hot days, opening the windows provided plenty of airflow and kept the tent comfortable. Setup and takedown were both easy, and there’s plenty of room inside. I’m 6'1" and fit perfectly without feeling cramped. My only real complaint is the mattress. It’s not the most comfortable, so I brought my Exped mat along and slept great. Overall, I’m very happy with the Nomadic 3. After putting it through a 9-day trip with a wide range of weather conditions, I’m confident it’s a solid rooftop tent and a great addition to my camping setup. I’d also like to give a shout-out to Ash for making the purchase such a great experience.

We took our jeep with the Nomadic 3 RTT up to a mountain lake near Mt. Baker WA at about 6000ft. The field of view from inside is great, and the skylight is awesome for watching the stars as you drift off. Overnight temps were below 45, with pretty stiff winds. We had no drafts at all and the tent was very stable and quiet. It stayed about 55 inside without additional heating, and with a diesel heater on the lowest setting it maintained 75 degrees. We are old and creaky, so we need some extra padding, but really we have zero complaints about our tent and look forward to many years of camping wherever our travels take us.
