A family-size sleeping platform in an aerodynamic hard shell that deploys in minutes.

The OVS HD Bushveld 4-Person Cantilever Hard Shell Rooftop Tent is a 4-person cantilever hard shell rooftop tent with an insulated aluminum base, polymer shell, and an expansive multi-panel sleeping area. It folds out from a compact shell to create room for a family or group at camp.

The 280g ripstop polycotton body, 420D polyester Oxford rainfly, 3500 PU waterproof treatment, quilted foam mattress, skylight, and stainless-steel hardware are designed for repeat overland use. An optional annex and awning can extend the sheltered living area.

Bushveld Hard Shell

Ordered on sale and wasnt sure what to expect but arrived on time with no damage. Super impressed with the quality and will do another review once I have it out a few times

Bushveld after some camping

Overall, I am happy with this Bushveld. I have it installed on my Toyota FJ Cruiser. It is very easy to set up. Takes all of 3 minutes to open up and start putting my gear inside the tent. It has taken some trial and error on putting it back away. I could not do it by myself the first couple times. I have now come up with a system using bungee cords (not provided) and a step ladder to be able to put away in 10-15 minutes. The only other bad thing i would say is the locking clasps. I have not had the tent long, about 4 months, and 2 of my locking clasps are already unlatching on their own. I have used some zip ties to help alleviate this. Very roomy tent though. My wife and i sleep comfortably in it. Its also surprisingly warm (relatively). I have camped 3 times in sub freezing nights. One just below freezing, the other two in 6 degrees and 15 degrees. It is probably 20-25 degrees warmer inside the tent. We used a small propane heater inside the tent and it was sufficient.

Bushveld First Impressions

Bought the tent on sale and had to wait a month or so but happy I did. This tent is huge and will be perfect for me and the fam. Tons of extras not listed on the site and not sure what to do with them. any help?

Initial Thoughts for a Family of 5

I just received the Bushveld Tent in by freight today. Shipping was easy and OVS customer service rocks! I usually expect to be underwhelmed by outdoor products, but I can say this tent is overwhelmingly high quality. Its much larger than pictures that OVS has on their website. It measures out to just under 7ft out off the box. I surprised my family with it and they were all fighting if we were going to sleep in it tonight, in the blizzard. We got into it and it was like going to a mansion compared to our last tent. I can tell that this tent will fit our family for years to come. In a couple months after winter subsides in Wyoming, we will get out on the dirt roads and give it a shake down.
